Vartan Gregorian, Savior of the New York Public Library, and 1986 Medalist, Dies at 87

Vartan Gregorian was a man who sought and achieved greatness in his life, and had the compassion to share that greatness with all those who knew him and many who would never even know his name.

Mr. Gregorian was honored with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1986 for his work on behalf of the New York Public Library. He would go on to even greater heights in academia and public service.
